Context reminder: Created in 1996, the soundscape and noise observatory of Greater Lyon is a development of Acoucité. Set of physical studies (measurement, analyses, modelling, expertises, audio), the observatory is a management and decision support tool for elected representatives and local technicians. Designed to monitor the sound environment, it allows then to assess actions to undertake, anticipate adapted town planning and have a forward-looking vision. Progressively, this tool leads to a better management of the sound environment.
The link below provides a methodological guide for the development of a permanent network for measuring environmental noise at the urban-area level.
